Tigers (fixture 8), Terriers (fixture 5) & Tornados (fixture 7)

3.12.23

The icy winter conditions along with snow unfortunately led to the cancellation of both the Tigers and Terriers games. Hopefully suitable dates can soon be found to enable these to go ahead. However, the Tornados team managed to all find their way to West Yorkshire’s new venue in the John Charles Centre in Leeds for the return match against their A team. This had ended with a 23-17 win but could the team secure a similar result on their home ground? In the Singles, Pete Sayer was riding high after his County Championship Singles win yesterday and along with Captain Rod the Singles picked up 8 points. Both Fours were undefeated thus claiming all 10 whilst the Triples shared 5 points apiece. The usually reliable Pairs had a tough day and only added 2 more but this combined effort gave the team another win by 25-15 (174-153).

Seven out of seven with three to go! However, it will be another 3 months before the team will have to face their toughest challenge when they will travel to Stoke for their final match. Quite how tough this will be remains to be seen as Staffordshire have so far only played 4 matches.
