Tigers (fixtures 4 & 5)

4.11.23  Durham had been unable to raise a team on the original date 2 weeks ago and for this re-arranged match came with 19 players. The Tigers continued their winning streak with their most decisive victory so far, only conceding 1 game in the Pairs. With another drawn, they were extremely pleased to end the match with a 37-3 result and a whopping shot difference of 129 shots (241-112).

5.11.23 What a difference a day (and different opposition/venue) makes! Like Durham, Derbyshire are a very small county with less than 60 members but always put up a good fight. Our Pairs, Triples and Fours were only able to secure a single win with the Singles adding 2 more. The final score would have been a lot closer had it not been for 3 games that were lost on the last end by a single shot. However, Derbyshire secured all the bonus points so the Tigers returned home on the end of a 10-30 defeat (139-190) – their first of the season.

With half their matches now played, they have a substantial lead at the top of Division 2, although no other team has yet played more that 2 matches. If they can keep up the momentum, promotion to Division 1 looks a realistic possibility.
