Tigers (fixture 8)

9.3.24

In their penultimate game at home against Derbyshire (rearranged from December), the visitors threw down the gauntlet with a 10-6 lead in the two sessions before lunch. However the Tigers fought back and took the afternoon by 12-4. The 8 bonus points were shared with Derbyshire winning the Singles and Pairs and the Tigers taking the Triples and Fours (who remained undefeated). Final result was therefore a 7th victory for the Tigers by 22-18 (218-161).

Next week all 3 teams will play their final game of the season – all away matches. The Tigers now only need 2 points at Durham to be guaranteed promotion. The Terriers need 31 points at West Yorkshire to come second whilst in the clash of the titans, the Tornados must get 9 points in their crunch match at Stoke if they are to win the Division 1 title.

Good luck all.
