Tigers (fixture 7), Tornados (fixture 7), Terriers (fixture 7)

After having no games for the last 7 weeks (9 weeks for the Terriers), it was time to take to the road again for all three teams – all playing away.

The Tigers were due to take on Staffordshire but were unable to find enough players willing or able to make a full team for the long trip so the game was abandoned and an alternative date has not been found. Points will be awarded at the end of the season in accordance with IC league rule 29(b).

The Tornados were off to Leeds to play West Yorkshire A  who are snapping at their heels in 4th position. Although the usually reliable Pairs secured 8 points and the Singles another 6, the Triples failed to score whilst the Fours only collected another 2. So the team came away with a 16-24 (165-188) defeat. A disappointing result after last years 25-15 win which means they have just fallen down into 4th place. Still time to recover but 2 of their remaining 3 games are against the “big boys”. Never say never!

The Terriers headed south to play Derbyshire where a good result was required to maintain their 2nd position in the league. A brilliant result (a tough ask) would even send them into 1st place! The Singles were however outplayed (84-36) and failed to score but the trusty Triples once again came up with a full house 10 and the Fours added another 8. With the Pairs adding a further 3 in a close contest just missing the aggregate by 2 shots (51-52), the team came home with their 6th win of the season 21-19 (176-198). With 3 games remaining they are still in a good chance to win their Division. Come on Terriers!
