Tigers (fixture 7), Terriers (fixture 4) & Tornados (fixture 6)

19.11.23:  3 fixtures today – 2 away and 1 at home.

The Tigers roared into West Yorkshire’s new venue at the John Charles Centre in Leeds with 19 players, one member having “got lost” on the way. They continued to stamp their authority in Division 2 with the Singles and Pairs undefeated and Triples and Fours only dropping 7 points between them, to end with their 6th victory of the season by 33-7 (213-140). They have now built up a very substantial lead over their rivals who although they have many games in hand will surely find it difficult to catch them now.

For their 4th match, the Terriers went to North Cave to play Humberside B in a very tight match with no side or discipline dominating. Nevertheless, the Terriers ended the day with their second match win by 21-19 (169-159). Currently they are 2nd in the Division 141 shots behind the Tigers giving them a mountain to climb if they want to mount a serious challenge. Still, never say never!

The Tornados took on West Yorkshire A, a team which not so long ago seemed almost invincible, at one time winning Division 1 in seven consecutive years. Their side still has several players from those “glory” days and the result was a very tight hard fought match in which all disciplines stepped up to the mark. The resultant win by 23-17 (170-149) included 3 drawn games and 4 games won/lost by a single shot. Close indeed! This means the Tornados remain undefeated and are still 50 shots ahead of Stockport who have a game in hand.
