Terriers (fixture 8) & Tornados (fixture 9)

In their away match against Humberside B back in November, the Terriers  had recorded a narrow 21-19 win, so on home ground the team were hoping for another positive result and this is what they achieved. It was only the Fours that failed to secure the bonus points, but they concluded the day with a 24-16 (200-168) victory – their 5th win of the year. With 2 away games remaining, will they be able to hold off the challenge for 2nd place from Derbyshire who are snapping at their heels with a game in hand.

The Tornados, also playing at home, were up against Humberside’s A team and like the Terriers had recorded a victory in their previous match at North Cave (27-13). They too had a good day claiming all 8 bonus points. In the Fours, skip Joseph’s 2 final woods turned 1 down to 5 up and turned a 29-11 score line to 33-7 (246-118). Could this 4 point swing be critical in the eventual Division 1 standings?
The final game will be against last years Champions, Staffordshire who, whilst still 100 points behind have 3 games in hand. The Tornados have done all they can for now by remaining undefeated. One way or another, it looks like an exciting end to the season with Staffordshire under pressure to finish well.
