Terriers 31 – Durham 9.

I am delighted to report on our final match of the county season at the Galtres Centre Easingwold this last Sunday.

Wow! What a great result to finish our season, our season finest by far. The singles, triples and fours almost winning all of their games and achieving all their aggregates. We welcomed Durham and as always the games were played in a spirit of friendly competitiveness, both teams showcasing great bowling skills.

The final result  — North Yorkshire Terriers 31 points, including 6 aggregate points and Durham 9 points including 2 aggregate points.

Such an enjoyable season for the Terriers and we must thank our captain Pat, who always supports and encourages us. Thank you Pat for all your hard work and organisation. Oh, and thank you for our chocolate eggs, they made our Sunday even sweeter!

Stockport B 24 – Tigers 16.

So, the Tigers, unbeaten all season, went into their last game of the season away to Stockport. With promotion at stake tensions where high on both teams.
Could the Tigers end the season unbeaten? With some players ill the team attended one short but were full of hope!

As it turned out Stockport were fired up and tamed the Tigers, the singles struggled winning only one game all day, however the pairs were victorious, winning all four games and of course the aggregate. Could the triples follow the pairs? Unfortunately not, they managed just one win, but the other games were very close, with only a shot or two difference in them.
Finally, the fours, all season they have been successful, but today they only managed one win ,and that was with a player short.

The end result was Stockport 24 points and the Tigers 16 points, however as captain I’m pleased with the 16 points won away against a very strong team.

Although beaten just once this season the Tigers remain top of Division 2, but Stockport with a game to play away at Durham need only ten points to pip us to the post, so c’mon Mack and his Durham team, support your local Tiger!
