North Duffield Christmas Triples

Saturday December 17th:

The annual Christmas Triples at Bubwith was attended by around 50 jolly bowlers all dressed for the occasion in Christmassy gear, including James Clark who spent the day hiding inside a full Snowman’s suit. The team that was judged best overall were the Angels from Thornton Le Dale (Angel at Islington, Angel of the North and Angel Delight).

                 

The winners of the bowls competition were Roger & Diane Ellis and Sam Stacey followed by Stu & Sue Parton and Robert Mumford. In third place was David Newsome who had teamed up for the day with a couple of work colleagues, James Lambert and Nigel Allison. Cash prizes were presented to the top three.

                  

The most observant player of the day was Sheila Thirsk (Wilberfoss) who correctly noticed the 8 jumper changes made by Joseph and the 7 earing changes made by Jill Newsome during the course of the day.

The day, which included soup, rolls and mince pies as well as a surprise raffle was once again deemed a great success, enjoyed by one and all.
