CHAMPIONSHIPS – Over 55 Pairs results

The second County Championship of the year was held on Saturday November 13th.  The 29 entrants were placed in 7 groups (1×5 and 6×4). All games were of 9 ends duration. At the end of the Round Robins the 7 group winners plus the next best 9 went into the Last 16 – the first KO stage. These resulted in wins for…

In the QFinals

Arthur/Mike knocked out Rod/Roger (7-6)
Dave/David knocked out Bob/Norman (13-7)
Rodney/Edyth knocked out Robert/Pat (9-7)
Allan/Paul knocked out Roger/Diane (13-9)

The SFinals were won by Dave/David v Arthur/Mike (8-3) and Rodney/Edyth v Allan/Paul (6-5)

In the Final, Rodney/Edyth were unable to make any headway against the two Davids who finally claimed a decisive victory by 17-4. For David Brown this was a second successive title, having won in 2019 with Keith Hughes.
The 3rd/4th place playoff was won by Allan/Paul beating Arthur/Mike 12-6.

The Umpires for the day was Tim Pearson and Daniel Agar  and proceedings concluded at around 4.30pm.
