C team (fixture 8) & B team (fixture 7)
30th Jan: After a shaky start with the points being shared in the first session 4-4, Rodder’s C team finally ended another good day to keep their unbeaten record with a 34-6 win (235-127) over Humberside B at home. The Triples and Pairs collected their full 10 points and in spite of their 3 mat losses the Singles and Fours did more than enough to claim their bonus points (the key to any victory). At lunch, all team members enjoyed a slice of birthday cake (courtesy Mrs Rodders) to celebrate Daniel Agars “promotion” from Junior to Adult having today reached the ripe “old” age of 18.
Meanwhile, the B team travelled away to play West Yorkshire A, a team that historically has won this league more than most. Another tough match ensued in which wins were hard to come by. The Fours fared worst losing all mats with a shot deficit of 53. The Singles and Triples managed 1 win each whilst our “top dogs” were the Pairs, who won 2 games and just missed the aggregate by a single shot. The final result was 8-32 (145-255). With 3 matches remaining, 31 points now separate them from Durham who are currently bottom but with 5 matches still to play. An exciting end to the season is guaranteed!
