C team (fixture 10), A team (fixture 9) & B team (fixture 9)
Sunday February 27
The C team wrapped up the season undefeated after travelling to Stockport for their final match. Although the Singles struggled and only picked up 1 point, the rest of the team rallied round and only lost 2 of their 12 games and drew another. The final score was 26-14 (171-160).
Meanwhile, the A team were at home in their penultimate match against Humberside. The Pairs and Fours each secured 8 points whilst the Singles and Triples shared their points with 4 apiece – but no aggregates. The final tally was therefore 24-16 (188-161) – their 5th win of the season. With 25 points now awarded for their cancelled game against Stockport, only 5 points separate them from Derbyshire who they will play away next weekend to determine who will be runner up in Division 2.
The B team took a trip up to Murton for their return match against the Geordies. Their first match this year had given them their only win so far so they were hopeful of another – and so it was. With 9 wins and a draw, and 3 of the 4 aggregates, the team was happy to secure their second win of the season by 25-15 (212-160). With only their final game remaining, they are now guaranteed no relegation and so can already start to look forward to another year in the top division in 2022-23.
