B team (fixtures 2 & 3)

The weekend of November 3rd/4th saw the team travelling away to Stockport and Leeds on consecutive days. Although both matches were lost, the 19-21 (-48 shots) result at Stockport was a creditable performance largely thanks to a full 10 points from the Triples and 7 from the Fours. The Pairs managed to win one of their games but the Singles failed to score and ended with a shot deficit of -51.

This match marked an important milestone for Knaresborough’s Derek Beardsley who clocked up his 100th appearance for North Yorkshire. His first selection was in 2005-06 and he has been a regular ever since. He becomes the 13th North Yorkshire polayer to achieve this distinction and to commemorate his achievement captain Pat Jones presented him with a trophy which no doubt will be placed alonside that of his wife Pat who reached her 100th last year.

At Leeds, the Singles, Triples and Fours only managed a single win each..The Triple of Roger Ellis’s, Pat Jones and Diane Ellis can usually be relied on for 2 wins so defeat in both their games is almost unheard of. This time it was the Gill Fletcher/Les Lambert Pair who shone with 2 wins, one of which (22-3) also secured the only bonus points of the match. The final score was 12-28 (-34 shots).  . .
