TORNADOS – Fixture 2

West Yorkshire A 16 – Tornados 24

The 1st November saw the Tornados heading for the John Charles Centre in South Leeds for their first away fixture against the West Yorkshire A team. Last year this match had resulted in a 28-12 win but we knew that the opposition had improved their team and had recently trounced Stockport B by 37-3. So as usual, it was a question of heads down, focus and make every shot count.

The day did not start well with only 2 points from session 1 and whilst points were shared in session 2, we were still 10-6 down at lunch. However the afternoon saw a change in fortunes as the team got their act together, picking up 14 of the remaining 16 points.

With the 8 aggregate points shared, the final result was thus a 24-16 win. Although not quite enough to move us up to 3rd in Division 1, we nevertheless remain in touch with most of the season still ahead.
