The NYSMBA had its last throw of the dice for the 25-26 season with the playing of The Little Cup Competition.

The competition took place at the Galtres Centre, with eighty-eight players in twenty-two teams of four taking part.

For those who’ve never entered before, the format was twelve sessions across twelve mats, with the teams playing singles, pairs and triples, the singles and pairs playing for twenty-five minutes and the triples playing thirty minutes, with all formats playing a maximum of ten ends. Each team played a Round Robin against four other teams drawn at random.

The day ended with two North Duffield teams taking the honours, Steve & Lilly Duffin, Pauline Dickinson and James Clark, taking the Runners-Up prize, and Jill, Joe & David Newsome, ably assisted by Conner Walton, and voraciously supported by their mascot Rory, won the cup, which was presented to team captain Jill by Competition Secretary, Robert Mumford.
