Terriers 28 v West Yorkshire B 12
The Terriers played their last game of the year on Saturday 13th December, entertaining over the border neighbours West Yorkshire B at Easingwold.
In the Singles team, Robert Mumford and Shirley Wakefield won all of their games gaining eight points plus and, of course, taking the aggregate to make a clean sweep 10-0.
The Triples teams were able to attain most of theirs giving them six points, plus the aggregate to make it 8-2.
Honours were shared in both the Pairs and the Fours, with two games each, although the Pairs manged to take the aggregate by five shots, gaining an extra two points.
All the games were played in the best of spirits and sportsmanship and when the aggregates were added the overall score was 28 points to the Terriers and 12 points to West Yorkshire B.
Well bowled to all the team and wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year.
Thanks to our team captain Pat Jones for the Christmas chocolates and a big thankyou to our umpire Anna Naughton (North Yorkshire) for all her hard work. There was a lot of measuring!
Sue Parton.

West Yorkshire 12 v Tornados 28
Among the Tornados who travelled to West Yorkshire was the returning, ever popular Geoff Whithead who last played for NY back in 2019, and stepped in to save the day because of a player shortage.
The Singles performed well winning three of their four games, with the NY Singles champion David Newsome beating a very determined Kev Siddle, losing on his home ground for the first time this season.
Both Pairs won one – lost one. With both losses being held to one shot, they were able to take the aggregate by a comfortable ten shots.
The Triples had a similar match winning two of their games and taking the aggregate, and in the Fours, heroes of the day Geoff and Joe, trailing by three shots at the start of the last end, took a four to give the Fours a clean sweep.
All in all, an amazing team effort from the Tornados, hopefully making our travelling captain proud.
Steve Duffin.

Tigers 34 v Durham 6
Our fifth game of the season saw the Tigers at home against our old friends Durham, could the Tigers go into the new year unbeaten?
Well, it wasn’t the best preparation for Durham, firstly they were three players short, and half the team arrived late due to issues on the A19.
However, play commenced a little late (with the new Division 2 rule in place for teams with missing players) and the Tigers started off very well, winning seven of the eight games and a healthy aggregate before the break.
After lunch was similar, with the Tigers again taking six out of the eight games and winning all the aggregates. Durham’s success came in winning two singles and a pair.
Final score: Tigers 34pts, Durham 6pts.
An excellent win, but I want to praise Durham, who played professionally all day despite lack of players and the delayed start, and with some of their players being over 90 years of age I pay full respect to them all and I’m sure they will show no mercy on the return game!
So, into the new year we go, still unbeaten and from your captain, well played to ALL the Tigers (old and new) and have a great Christmas and New Year.
Chris.
