TIGERS (Fixture 4) TORNADOS (Fixture 5)

Tigers Fixture 4
Tigers 21 v Stockport B 19

The Tigers played their fourth match of the season this weekend, their second at home. Although so far unbeaten, they were playing the also unbeaten, possible promotion favourites Stockport B, could the Tigers run continue?

Before the game, Keith Hughes was presented with an award celebrating him representing one hundred games for North Yorkshire at county level, this was met by loud applause and cheers from his fellow players.

The singles went into the lunch break having won two with a positive aggregate, the pairs had mixed fortunes, they won one and lost one but with a fifteen shot positive aggregate, the triples unfortunately struggled with a draw and a loss, it was a similar situation with the fours losing both games, so at the half way stage Stockport had a 9-7 lead over the Tigers.

However, as the old saying goes ’It was a game of two halves’ the Tigers roared back, especially in the final session, winning three of the formats and three aggregates. The singles took six points and the aggregate, the pairs four points, and the aggregate, the triples unfortunately, remained with just one draw, but the fours won the last two games, with a massive twenty-one shot lead, thus taking the aggregate on this format.

Final score was the Tigers 21 points, Stockport 19 points, in what was a good natured game, with a fair amount of laughter exchanged between the two sides.

The Tigers remain unbeaten going into their fifth game, also at home against our old friends Durham, can the run continue?
