Scarborough Pairs

Scarborough SMBC ran it’s 2^nd annual “Last Ditch” Pairs competition on 24^th March 2024.

As this competition is proving popular, we had entries from fourteen teams. The last two teams were on standby but, unfortunately, didn’t get to play. 12 pairs from various clubs throughout North Yorkshire played 4 games each over the day. With 1st, 2^nd and 3^rd places changing after each round, it was a very closely fought competition and 4 teams ended on 6 points so the winning places were decided on shot difference.

In 3^rd place – Betty & Ian Ding 6 points, 2 shot difference. A great improvement from last year. £10 prize.
In 2^nd place – Annette & Martyn Robinson 6 points, 9 shot difference – last years winners. £15 prize.
In 1^st place – Elaine Thornburn & Arthur Jackson 6 points, 23 shot difference. £25 prize and the Charles Malliband Bowls Trophy.

We will be back next season on Saturday March 29^th for another enjoyable day of bowling.
