NATIONAL FINALS – U18 Singles

We travelled to Melton Mowbray yesterday (15/4/23) to support our youngsters in their National Finals. Lilly Duffin and Toby Trevaskiss at 11 years old were amongst the youngest taking part whilst Matthew, was making his first appearance in his last year as a junior. There were 24 taking part in 6 groups of 4 playing 11 ends.

All our youngsters struggled to settle to mat on mat and the different atmosphere and although none of them won any games the scores did not reflect the consistency of their drawing shots. They then went in to the plate KO competition (the Woodbridge trophy)  and their play improved dramatically and they all gave their opposition a good run for their money. Matthew was holding a match result for his game right until his oppositions last wood just chipped the jack enough to take it from his shot wood. During the whole day, all three juniors behaved impeccably and showed what a wealth of skill and talent we have for the future.
