Terriers (fixture 6), Tigers & Tornados (fixture 5)

4.12.22:

After their close result at home 2 weeks ago, the Terriers, with an unchanged team, made the short(ish) journey to North Cave for their return match against Humberside A. Another good performance in the Singles netted them 6 points but unfortunately this was not matched in the other disciplines and the they returned home with only 10 points and a shot difference of -89 (127-216).

The Tornados meanwhile, travelled 130 miles over the Pennines to Stoke for their return against Staffordshire. Like the Terriers, their home fixture had been close but expectations were not high as the Staffs team, on their own (quirky) mats are a different beast. Last season, they had only conceded 34 shots in all 5 home games, on their way to winning the division. So the Tornados suffered, and Staffs took all 30 points in the Singles, Triples and Fours. Our Pairs however, had a great day picking up our only points of the match. A disappointing, but not surprising, defeat by 7-33 (135-217).

The Tigers were at home playing their return match against Derbyshire. In their away encounter they had picked up 16 points so were expecting a better result on the blue mats. The Triples led the way winning all their 10 points with the Pairs not far behind picking up 8. A further 7 from the Singles and Fours gave the team their second win of the season by 25-15 (182-167)
