EAST COTTINGWITH v SELBY WMC 19-22 NORTH DUFFIELD 'A' v ESCRICK (plate) 32-15
Riccall village hall was this years host venue for the Selby & District League Tate and Lyle Cup and Plate finals.
The Plate final was contested by North Duffield ‘A’ and Escrick with the former winning both rinks - 17 shots to 11 and 15 to 4.
The Cup finalists were Selby Working Men's Club and East Cottingwith. The first rink was won by SWMC 9 shots to 7. The second was going East Cottingwith’s way who, after 6 ends were leading 8 shot to 2. Selby them picked up 5 shots in 7th to draw closer (a winning position by 1 shot over all). On the last end East Cottingwith were again in the lead 12 shots to 8, with one wood left to play but Selby were holding 5 shots. Richard Lochman had a choice of to fire and try to remove 3 or 4 woods or to draw in for shot or second wood. He chose to draw....... his wood came down the rink like a slow motion replay at Wembley only to finish inches short of his target thus giving Selby overall victory by 22 shots to 19.

and Seaton Ross winning the second for the first time.

East Cottingwith gaining 5 shots on the last end to beat Wilberfoss 12 to 9 and win the League.
Escrick v Selby WMC 13 all on the last end. D Randon bowled his last wood to gain shot and 2nd place
