7th PAIRS TOURNAMENT 2004 - Saturday 27th November 2004 - With four of the leagues ten clubs unable to take part, this years competition featured a reduced entry of eight teams of four pairs. Each team had four matches with a maximum points possible over the course of the day of 32. After a hesitant start in which they dropped 6 points, Easingwold I did not put a foot wrong during the rest of the competition and ended up as decisive winners on 26 points. Easingwold II also recovered form a poor start to just ease last years winners Hambleton I into third place by a single point. Four couples remained undefeated over the day with the best performance coming from Knaresborough's Derek & Pat Beardsley with +40 shots. They were closely followed by David Patterson & Harold Stokell from Hambleton with +39, and two Easingwold pairs, Audrey Wood & Sally Roocroft with +38 and Fred Wood & Barbara Topping with +37.
